Okay, something odd is going on. My XPS m1330 was working perfectly for a while, but now for some reason it always boots in Vista's "High Performance" mode. What?

When I'm working on a different power setting and go to turn off my laptop, I can actually see the screen become really bright, which is probably the point at which it switches to "High Performance" mode. Weird!

Anybody know how to fix this?

control panel > system and maintenance > power options

check your settings under high performance

try restoring to default and see if that helps

I actually figured it out... thanks for the reply, though.
Turns out it had something to do with RMClock... I just disabled the utility's power management capabilities and left it up to Vista to decide.
