ok i had my m1530 but was having issues with it bad, and even had a tech tell me he wasnt going to do anything to fix it as the diagnostics dont show anything. it overheats and causes crashes. this is my email to them after they screwed it up again.

I might come across as a *** to some of you. but I am a Business customer through dell and felt was I was just told I lied to try to get a extra battery when she did not even look over the order it seems. I am a little pissed right now.

instead i got dicked around for a month. I could have bought a gateway when it was on sale for 1250.00 with the 9800gts

    excert

"you asked me what I wanted in a system configuration.

    I stated

    M1730
    Smoke grey
    2.4ghz
    4gb ram
    Bluetooth
    Nvidia 8800
    200gb 7200rpm
    Extra battery
    Wifi

you then emailed me back on the 30th

"I'm checking on availability with this configuration. If I have any questions, I'll let you know. "

did not hear back on you so I emailed you back and you told me

"I have submitted the configuration for build. I will update you again if there is any new information."

not once did you tell me i was not getting the system i submitted for build

when i bought my m1530 i got the best components i could for it. and getting a system upgrade for a known defective graphics card was what i was expecting and nothing you told me ever changed that. If you were to have told me when i gave you my configuration that it would be different then what i requested then yes i might have returned it then. but you didnt. and i was only able to find out that the sytem was on back order for the grey was to keep emailing you and you kept telling me that it was submitted. not once did you tell me it was on back order till 11-21-08 and you only mentioned that to me on the 20th of october and only then sisnce i never heard anything during the time i submitted the build to you. I just want what i was told i would recieve.

if you have to send a tech out to replace the 8700 with a 8800 then thats what you need to do. I also ordered a extra battery with my system which you clearly stated " An extra battery was not ordered originally," if you had looked at the order you would have seen yes it was.

If you cant honor the specs that i sent and you submitted with nothing noted about changing them then , please find me someone who can honor it."

^^^^I think that's more than fine

I had Dell twiddle their thumbs when I ordered my system...supposed to be on the Dell Credit line and it took them a month to verify me...I got exasperated and told them that I would buy it cash....then they couldn't get my original system specs at the original price (ended up paying like 200 bux more :( )-----that's what happens when you order online....then ask about stuff and don't write down anybodies name :(

I say you stay firm and cordial like you are now...nothing wrong with that you wrote...and hell their paychecks come straight out of your pocket..and your treating them like the respectable human beings that they are....

Hope you get what you ask :)

I agree that dell certainly shouldn't have treated you that way and you have a right to be angry with them.

Though given that you got an upgrade to a system that costs about a thousand euro's or 13/1400 dollars more and one that would stomp all over the 1530 as regards gaming I'd be pretty pleased with myself if I got it, even if I had to wait a month or two more.
