Well, tomorrow, provided dell turn up, I will be getting a new HDD and, hopefully, will not have to endure the constant clicking of my HDD. However, since I will be getting exactly the same type of HDD, there is always the chance that the clicking will continue. However, for those that are also suffering from the eternal mouse ping pong match taking place in their laptops, it will be interesting to see whether the fault lies with the HDD or simply a software/hardware conflict.

Since so many people claim that they have no clicking when idle, i am hoping this may fix the issue. I will report the outcome.
