I recently bought the 1080p B+RGLED screen and I intend to use it to watch my HD movies and TV shows. How would the picture quality compare to my 50" Panasonic plasma screen (TX-P50V20B, here's a review of my tv: http://www.avforums.com/review/Panasonic-V20-TX-P50V20B-50V20-HDTV-Plasma-Review.html)? Because if the picture quality on the Dell is as good as the plasma, I may consider using the laptop as one of my primary ways of viewing my files, if not I'll just stick with my TV.

Hey, Did u upgrade(replaced earlier one with?) your screen to 1080p B+RGLED or your laptop came with that screen?

HD movies look fantastic on the XPS 15's 1080p display. It's primarily why I bought it (I'm an HD addict
) since I travel WAY too much and it's proved to be the perfect choice. It has a very sharp image, good contrast and has none of the "ghosting" or other problems suffered by the lower frequency LCD/LED TV's.
That said, I'd still prefer to watch on my 55" (Samsung, 240Hz, 1080p, LED) at home, but that's just due to the size alone. -
Thanks! Can't wait to start viewing HD material on my new laptop.

The most demanding game I have right now is Crysis2, and it runs smoothly at all high settings. I'll have to look and see what resolution I'm running at (can't remember). It looks great though.
If you're talking about the latest and greatest high end games (like The Witcher 2) the GT540M will run most of them, but not at the highest settings. -
You are comparing a 50" screen to a 15.6" screen? I don't know about you, but I would always view my HD video files on a big screen! It's all about the visual experience.
