I just received my precision 5520 and i'm over the moon with it. I've just finished repasting went with Liquid Metal on the CPU and MX-4 on the GPU. Temps are fantastic and the Xeon seems golden @ -160mV so far. (Geek Bench Result HERE) 4Single 807 - Multi 16033

I overclocked the GPU Quadro M1200 with the max +135mhz that Nvidia Inspector would allow. My best Firestrike so far is 4135 (Graphics 4427, Physics 11179). How does this compare to last years XPS?

I can't go any further on the memory its locked off. Are there any Bios modders out there than can unlock the voltage control and the overclocking lock? I feel I can get a bit further with this. Or any other software solutions?

Shame this years quadro isn't based on the 1050m but since this is my work PC I have to have a Precision. Still the GPU is a bit of a monster. It beats my gaming PC's 3770k @ 4.2Ghz all cores and since my work is AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks which all prefer CPU over GPU for 3D work I have the right machine for the job!

I have not seen any bios mods here or anywhere else for recent XPS laptops m8.

There are some posts here for minor tweaking beyond what you have done (e.g. enable SpeedShift, boost power limits in XTU, check the nift c1e box in ThrottleStop). Also you may be able to use higher speed RAM than officially specd(with CAS penalty so a bit of a wash)

If you are able to find a method to disable the BIOS modification check Dell has introduced on the newer NB models I am sure many mods will follow. ;-)

Best you can hope for is the highest supported jedec value ram, I think this will take up to 2666 but for sure 2400 jedec rated works fine. I use a crucial kit.
