Hi guys .. I'm looking to buy a 15" Dell XPS which comes with 1TB SSD (I have a lot of data to store). This is the only XPS I can find which matches my requirement:

But I don't really need a touchscreen or 4k, so is there a cheaper configuration somewhere that I can get ?

Just buy a cheaper configuration one from Dell and buy the SSD separately.

How about buy the 256GB version and replace the SSD yourself. 1TB M.2 SSD is rare but Sandisk make one :

Granted it's an SATA, but it should work -
Get any configuration of xps 15 you want, and buy the SSD yourself. Something like a Samsung 850 EVO should cost you around $300 in either M.2 or 2.5" form factors.

Check Best Buy open box cages. Got a $2,300 XPS touch 4k, 16gigs, 1tb, skylake i7 for $1,500 after negotiating (priced at $1,803 in the cage). Netted down to $1,350 with an extra 10% off. Deals are out there, but you have to work for them.

The sata m2 fits in the same place the pcie m2 fits it's the same size.
I have a crucial sata m2 in mine. -
Dell will normally give 10-15% discount, you can get 15% in the Uk by joining the VIP club.

I got it for 1650$ from BestBuy by price matching from microcenter http://www.microcenter.com/product/455374/XPS_15_156_Laptop_Computer_-_Silver

This person is selling a 1TB PM951 SSD on eBay for $450 + shipping:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-PM9...4-NVME-Solid-state-drive-SSD-OEM/162033527732
If you have a 512GB PM951, you can probably sell that for $200 or so, making this a $250 upgrade. More expensive than the M.2 Sandisk above, but this one will be PCIe.
Any Dell XPS with 1TB SSD cheaper than $2300 ?
