I just want to know if Dell has resolved this on M1530's that have been made in, say, the months of June and July.
So can anyone who received an M1530 in either June or July please tell me if they got that keyboard bulge?

i think so.....
just bad Dell QA and bad construction
not too difficult to remove the bulge.... mines not noticeable (m1330) -
Yeah, first one had a huge one, got a replacement for that and many other reasons, second one was fine.
What you basically do though is remove the keyboard and fix the cables underneath the M1530 to make sure they are not bumped out and everything will be fine. -
Me, no. My keyboard was fine... In fact, my pc was really fine with no manufacturing defects at all.. I am sure I am not the only one, but when I came here back then, I was really surprised to see so many people with defects and replacements going on.. Anyways, so there.. Me I had no bulge or anything. Everything was perfect

i have the keyboard bulge!
I didn't realize others have had this problem too.... I guess I need to look for the post on how to deal with this (i.e. is it better to have Dell come and fix it - or should I attempt to fix it myself?). -

similar way...
DIY.... if dell tech comes over, chances are he wont do a great job compared to what you can do -
Mine had a bad bulge. Fixed it myself but it's still there, just not as bad. So stupid and I don't trust Dell to fix it either. Oh well sweet laptop besides that.

it depends how much you tighten the keyboard's 2 screws.
-
Have you guys seen this?

crap! you'd think that after selling this thing for like 7-8 months they would have resolved the issue and newer laptops would be all fine...
well i hope the one im gettin soon doesn't have it. -
Mine came with a little bulge too. I fixed it myself with the help of instructions from the service manual. The plastic above the keyboard is a little scary to remove but with patience you can get it. Mine was just caused by cables placed the wrong way, not the large screw as shown in the other thread (ouch!).

yea i was looking at that. looks like a really delicate cable. coufu can you offer any advice about removing that upper panel? ....as there is a good possibility ill have to do that
thanks -
2 of the three delivered to me had the bulge. on one of them it was really bad.
-
Everything was perfect on mine

Mine has a bulge in it as well. At first it looks like an illusion, but once you view it at eye-level you can see the function keys rising a little above the others when you compare it to the bottom edge of the touchpanel.
I want to fix this, but I don't trust myself. But I'll probably end up fixing it. -
Mine has a barely noticeable bulge, I'm so far ok with it. The gapping led screen and dented aluminum palm rest I'm not.
-
Mine never had it...I guess I was lucky..There are fixes for this though
I think they are pointed out in some of the posts, above!

I have a bulge.
My XPS(built in Aug), also has a slight bulge. Not enought to really worry about, but it's there. I probably would have never noticed it, if it weren't for reading about it here. -
Mines fine, everything was perfect, no defects
-
got mine on agoust, everything fine with the keyboard.
Any M1530 owners with recently delivered notebooks got that keyboard BULGE?
