I'm in the market to purchase a new 15" (possibly even larger) notebook by the end of Jan 09 and am wondering if Dell will offer the 9800 gs or gts in any of its notebooks?
I am not sure why Dell has not offered the low end 8800 gpus in any of their current notebook lines and am wondering if the same policy will continue for the newer 9800 gpus as well? I would prefer to purchase from Dell (due to their terrific overseas warranty) but do not want to be buying a 9600 mid level gpu when many other manufacturers are offering the 9800 gs and gts gpus for the similar price.

Their most powerful 15" notebook is their Precision M4400 w/ FX 1700M which is around 9700M GT level (link in sig). Dell typically doesn't add above mainstream GPUs in their notebooks, except in their 17" XPS.

they are going to "pass" gaming to AW.
-
well, you can only count on ALIENWARE

I wish they would dump Nvidia and go with ATI.

I wish they would dump AW and make a successor to the M1730. Or give me a new motherboard
-
And, what would you like contained on the new and improved Motherboard????

Any news on Dell using 9800 gs or gts gpu's in future notebooks?
