just a FYI, if you buy it for PS3, you get a PC copy as well.

I haven't bought Portal 2 yet, but I'm playing Fallout New Vegas in maximum resolution (1920x1080) at high/medium settings and getting 30-45 FPS. I bet FNV is more demanding than Portal 2.

Thank you for the tip! :) Rep +1

I have, and it runs great on max settings, though admittedly I'm overclocked. Still, it's on the Source engine which is pretty scalable and low-demand.

On my Core i7 XPS 14 with a 425m I can turn everything up and add a dash of FSAA and still get about 60fps

I bought Flight Simulator X years ago and I've never owned a computer that could run it. If my XPS 17 can when it arrives, that'd be great :D

Regarding Portal 2, it ran incredibly smoothly on my friend's XPS 15 when he was round here the other week. Max settings.

Just a heads up that with the PS3 version you have to link your PSN account with your Steam account to activate the free PC version. With PSN currently down for awhile it may be a few days (at least) until you can activate the PC version.

Does the PS3 version come with the actual disc or do you have to download the PC version from Steam and just have it activate when you link accounts?

The PS3 version just comes with a Steam code that will only work in Steam once you link your Steam and PSN account. You download it like any other game you buy off Steam.

I had my 540m slightly overclocked (870 - 1010) and had every setting on max with an average of 40FPS. Full HD of course.
Now my PS3 version has finally arrived I can actually get into it! I had steamcloud issues before

Not exactly but close. I had bought a Refurb SXPS 1645 from the Outlet. Exactly 21 days after delivery I asked Dell to accept it back and they did. That same day I ordered the XPS 15. The SXPS had a better chassis but the XPS 15 is the better laptop all around.
