I'm waiting for the same thing I was looking at the Inspiron but think the XPS is a better build so will hold out hopefully something soon.

Yeah, I had the xps 15 2 in 1 for a day, and compared to my inspiron 13 5000 2 in 1 it was just too big for what I wanted. I am hoping that dell is going to refresh the 13 with the maglev keyboard, and some upgraded internals. Also, offer the black and white offerings available in the standard xps 13 too. A white and rose gold 13 2 in 1 will be ordered for the wife as soon as they release one.

I'd love to see them get more than 6-7 hours of battery life out of a new XPS 13 2-in-1. I was not happy with mine in that regard, especially with the ultra low power (and performance) cpu that was in there.

How is the build quality comparing the XPS and the Inspiron?

I ordered the 14" Inspiron 2 in 1 the newest one with the Whiskey Lake cpu but would prefer to have the XPS with the upgraded CPU although I would end up paying about 600-800 more for the XPS that is why I thought I would try the Inspiron.

It’s much better built, I loved the keyboard but sent it back and am still using my ole cheapy Inspiron 13 5000. The cheapy is serving me great at the moment so I am going to hold off until an xps 13 2 in 1 refresh happens, or an asus zenbook flip pro with that cool touchpad.

I loved the keyboard on the XPS 9575 for sure. I thought for some reason you were super anti-Asus?

I am, but that device may sway me to give it ago, But I’m not sure. I have been burnt many times by them before.

Is Dell at CES? I am crossing my fingers they give the 13 2 in 1 the same treatment they gave the 15 2 in 1. Maglev keyboard, some horsepower under the hood, and squeeze in some more battery. If I can get 8 hrs of battery life just doing basic surfing etc, I would be extremely happy. Offer it in grey and white / rose gold too dammit!
