Any way to prevent the fans from kicking in all the time?

I love the laptop but I was just wondering if the fan is supposed to kick in, slow down, kick in, slow down all the time. It's not loud but I just find it weird since all I'm doing is Word processing. I tried Speed Fan but it refuses to open and freezes up the computer. Has everyone else made peace with the fans?

Try undervolting the processor, which will reduce the temperature of the processors, and that will lower fan speeds

"Power Saver" is supposed to set the cooling system to "passive".

But, I just turned on Power Saver mode, and my fans are still on as they seem to always be.

When playing a game or something, this thing sounds like a jet turbine!

Interesting. Any danger in putting the fans on passive? I don't play games...the most I do is Word Processing, with iTunes, and some light internet surfing at the same time. Probably unfounded, but I don't want to put the fans on passive and then see that my computer is fried hehe.

It won't fry your computer. Passive just means that when your computer gets hot/warm, it will lower the processor speed to cool your computer first and if that isn't enough, then the fan will kick in.

Hmm...definitely don't want to open the notebook up haha.

Oh well....it's not like it's obnoxiously loud...just annoying that they never really stop.

Would replacing the paste void the warranty? I got some good arctic sliver ceramic paste that needs a home
