yes. You call dell. and they will tell you how. HDD upgrades do not void warrentys

You don't void the warranty. When upgrading, keep the original drive in case you ever need to send it in.
The only catch is that if you break the laptop while upgrading (unlikely), or the new hard drive breaks something else (also unlikely), then the warranty does not work. -
