I've just read the other thread and it seems like alot of people are getting their laptop replaced with the Studio XPS 16 system.

I just wondered whether the call centre is the same from the US as that of the UK, as I've had a number of issues with the laptop over the last few days.

On Thursday the technician came to replace the Hard Drive (because of an error code in the diagnostics) and the Screen (backlight failed when there was no power)

He replaced those parts and then the computer wouldn't switch on. Turns out he broke part of the motherboard.

I was expecting them to come on Friday, but they messed up and cancelled my booking so I have to wait until Tuesday as Monday was Bank Holiday.

I've just switched on the laptop and it seems to be running but the media buttons aren't working, so it seems strange it would be an issue with the motherboard.

I've currently got a 4 year extended warranty for this machine and it was purchased June 08, so I'm only just under a year into it (extended part). It's quite frustrating that it hasn't been fixed and when I spoke to them on friday they offered me a free usb stick as compensation.

If the issue isn't resolved when the engineer comes round, do you think I can get a replacement system and if so, how do you think I should phrase it?

Sorry for the long winded post, but I'm really annoyed that I'm not able to use my laptop.

Typically Dell has been replacing the 1530 because of the faulty GPUs that repeatedly fail, but considering the inconvenience they have caused you, it is def. worth a shot. Jump on XPS chat and see what you can do!
