Just like the topic title says..

I was just curious if anyone out there has successfully got their faulty/overheating/throttling Studio XPS 1640/1645/1647 with a new XPS 15/17?

    I'm ready to try...

I dont know about the studio, but I know a few who got SB versions and other upgrades,I'ts a long nightmare process thats case by case different but I would try and have myself.I had an xps14 now Im offered an xps 15 and an alienware m14x. If you check my posts Ive been through a living hell. But if It works out I'll tell you exactly who to call.Im showing both in production and for what its worth I have an email in writing from a dell/alienware VIP who guarantees I'll have them any day and he'll follow up with me as it progresses!

I was told, over here at least, you need 3 of those Dell fix slips before you can entertain the idea of replacement/money back.

That said, I wouldn't exchange mine to the XPS15/17.

Yes I had mine 1640 replaced with a 1647 + many, many upgrades.

Didn't have a single part replaced once. Just wrote a great email to you know who. I was the one who started that trend..lol

Just wondering if it's working from studio xps to the new xps.

The only reason why I want it is because of Sandy Bridge and nvidia cards. I use a lot of Adobe Premiere cs5 - it's accelerated by CUDA based cards...would love to have one...
