I just downloaded Nvidia driver 378.66 from nvidia experience and nvidia control panel doesn't show up anymore. I tried to open the control panel from start menu and it won't run. Nvidia experience will keep telling me that I have an update to 378.66. Also GPU-z shows that the graphic card is not working at all.

I tried to uninstall from DDU in safe mode and reinstall the driver from their website. Still same issue. I had to downgrade back to 378.49. Hopefully they fix the driver soon.

I'm having trouble with the Nvidia drivers like you. My issue was lock ups/ freezes whenever using the gtx 1050. Even the Dell diagnostics would lock up.
I also used DDU for complete removal and then installed the Nvidia experience straight away after reboot and Nvidia experience downloaded the driver and seems ok now.

changing mine to "same issue" as the 9560 has lost the CP while the 9550 is working fine.

I guess it is a 1050 issue then. Hopefully Nvidia will do a hot fix soon.

Gtx 1050 - Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems ... that's what I'm getting now.

Same issue for me too, brand new Dell XPS 15 with NVidia GTX 1050. Updated to latest Nvidia WHQL drivers 378.66 and card stopped - had to regress back to older version of driver to get it working again

damn you guys all upgraded from a 9550? I'm tempted but not tempted enough to drop another 1200$ to upgrade from 9550 to 9560 for a videocard

I'm SOOO glad I waited to get my XPS... Dang! The 960m isn't a bad card by any means...although 2GB vram only is a little bottleneck these days. the 1050 will be pretty awesome once I get it. Basically the thermal limit of this type of laptop but should work out quite well!

I tried the hotfix driver today 378.72 and same problem with the 1050 stopping due to a problem occurred. Rolling back again solved the issue.

378.92 working fine for me at the moment after having the hotfix running without problems. I've not gamed on it yet, but Photoshop and Lightroom run without problems and no weirdness in the OS.

I have a 9550 with 960m. I don't play games, but don't see 960m used from Task Manager almost at all.

So under Nvidia Control Panel, I switched "auto select" to "Nvidia" under Global Settings and also specified "Nvidia" under Program Settings. Is this change good for graphics? Also some programs listed under Program Settings do not allow me to change to Nvidia.

I'm using v8.1.940 (driver version 388.16) downloaded from Dell, and see that most recent version is also available from Nvidia website. If I uninstall the current Dell version and install the latest Nvidia, can I continue to see Nvidia Control Panel under Control Panel? Some users reported that only Nvidia downloaded from Dell would show Nvidia Control Panel.

    Thanks for your help.
