Anyone notice that the 1640 outlet listings are going crazy?

I've been refreshing every 15 minutes for the past 4 hours trying to find ANY 1640 that is equipped with a 4670 GPU (haven't seen one yet, but someone told me they saw one a few days ago).

Anyhoo, it's pretty crazy. It'll go from 6 units to 48 units to 8 units to 2 units within 30 minutes or less (refreshing very frequently).

I've watched the outlet before and have never seen this level of activity/change surrounding any product.

I don't understand.....I went to your link and was able to find it. I simultaneously have another window open and refresh the outlet (which I'm now doing every 5-10 minutes) and there are ZERO 4670 GPU's listed. Every single GPU is a 512mb 3670.

And yet your link is working for me, so it's obviously there somewhere.

    I'm going to www.dell.com/outlet

    Clicking on laptops

    Selecting the XPS laptops

    Selecting the XPS 16

Every option is clicked to view (off lease, refurb, ordered new, scratch and dent)

And I have yet to see a single 4670.

    Am I doing something wrong?

i saw one tonit, a previously ordered dell xps 1640, with t2.66/rgb led/bd rom
    and 1gb ati4670 for $1429 .
price is a bit high imo. but nontheless there is one with new 4670 card, assume more systems with new ati card will come into outlet soon.

The reason it does that is because people add a whole page to their cart and THEN look through to see if it is when they want before removing them from the cart. They do this because if they look for one they want and find it, by the time they add it to the cart someone else already has and it is unavailable.

the previously ordered new 1640s are gonna be the only ones you'll find, no scratch and dent or refubs.

First off, I can't believe any of you guys were able to find one. I've literally spent like 12 hours of refreshing and have never even seen ONE.

I've also called dell up to confirm their were none of their system/backlog (when I called) and they confirmed that as well.

Ugh....It's going to take me 2 weeks just to find a suitable system. And then I'll probably give up and buy a 3670 :)

By the way, It's funny that I have not seen any 4670 GPUs on the outlet but I regularly see 256 SSDs and 6gb of ram (both easy to upgrade later and both quite expensive upgrades now) and plenty of 1920x1080 RBG screens (again, expensive upgrade and one I'd expect to be paired more frequently WITH a 4670 GPU).

It's just interesting to watch how things were built.

At this point, if the 4670 weren't such a significant upgrade over the 3670, I'd go with the lower GPU. But it really is a difference and I'm not going to have any other laptop for the next 4 years.....so I imagine I'd regret it if I went with the lower one.

Yeah for the outlet. Myself, i'm trying to land a 1640 with rgb and 4670. Everything else I don't care about.
