So what has changed in this BIOS? Any updates on any throttling issues?
BTW, this is what the description says:
*Features update:

1.1 Disable USB device during WIN-FLASH.
1.2 It will skip to flash un-used ME block during WIN-FLASH.
2. Enhanced SMBIOS structure for processor core count.
*Issues fix:
1. system will BSOD show 9F after running S4 stress about 10-300 cycles.

I'll try it out later, but based on the reviews so far it looks like this BIOS version is going to be one to avoid.
Edit: I'll try it out when I find out for sure A09 will be easy to put back. -
Ill read up on it, but as of now A09 is working just fine.

BIOS A10 for which system?
A bit more info would be helpful -
A10 BIOS is for 1645.
1647 has new BIOs too aparently.
Seems 1645 BIOS has lowered GPU threshold again.... http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...ver-softwae-updates-studio-xps-1645-a-14.html -
I'm using it atm.. haven't had the time to test anything with furmark etc but haven't noticed anything odd yet
-
I just installed the A10 last night for my 1645. Don't notice a difference ...
-
I've just rolled back to A09 and now it feels like a normal system again.
I posted 2 GPU-z logs here to show the difference with GPU alone - A09 beats it hands down (let alone the CPU Multi being back to where it was when running Prime+Furmark together).
I did also game and it just didn't 'feel' as good - as an example, when you play Dirt2 it was laggy so it reacted too slow and too much instead of nice and sharp (hope that makes sense).

Maybe it's just my system that doesn't like A10 but there's a clear difference that can be recorded. -
I just stressed my system for almost a full hour and got no throttling!!!!
Download ThrottleStopLog.txt from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way
EDIT: NM, GPU is throttling : (.............. -
I just tried A10 so I could get the complete "Dell Experience."
I had problems with A09, but this A10 is indeed no steps forward and two steps backward for the throttling issue. I couldn't figure out the throttling pattern with this A10: it hit 86C, but then kept throttling the GPU at a weird rate down to the high 70s. By comparison, A08 has a simple GPU throttling cutoff at 84C. Whatever, not worth my time. Also, terrible framerates in-game within 5 minutes.
A09, we will be united again on the other side after the blocks are programmed!
Anyone tried the A10 bios?
