Do they get different motherboards and GPUs or just new GPUs? Does anybody with a repaired 1330 with nVidia graphics have the A14 BIOS and notice that the fan is quiet, like it was before the A11 BIOS?

they change the motherboard, as the GPU is soldered on the mainboard itself...

After bios version A11, the fans do kick in a whole lot more, as this was one of Dell's "solutions" to the GPU overheat issue. This is the case with ALL m1330 computers using the newest BIOS and GPU drivers and has nothing to do with mainboard revision...

Second that, they replace the motherboard as the GPU is soldered on. A12 -A14 kick in the fans at lower temps to try to prevent the eventul death.

Motherboard revisions generally redesign something like I know there are at least two different heat sink's.
