I am just wondering, because i called up dell on saturday to get this XPS 1530 replaced (chassis scratches, white bleeding into black on LED w/ dead pixels, optiaric drive w/ horrible crunching noises) and they gave me a dispatch number that can inturn be called in to receive a order number once the factory opens. So i just checked, and 4 days, FOUR DAYS, and its already in the boxing stage.

Replacements are NOT in any way or chance refurbished, correct?
And if not, is it just the timing of getting the replacement, or is it that the laptops to be replaced are prioritized? Because this is the second time i am getting this thing replaced, my first initial order back in may took a literal month, the replacement to that (they gave me the wrong screen) took 2 1/2 weeks, and this time around its probably gonna be a week and a half... Just wondering your take on it.

I have that same Optiarc drive w/ horrible crunching noises too!! I'd like to know if getting a replacement is refurbished or not too because my keyboard was replaced and it was worse than the original!

Dude, your getting a refurb'd Dell. Replacements within the return period are New, anything else is a Refurb.

It's not all bad though. I've had alot of good luck BUYING dell refurbs from the outlet. Both my m1210 and m1330 came with the best options. (ie better LED screen, drives, etc.)

I'm not so sure about that... after 6 months continuous problems with my original m1330 and having a tech come to my house over 6 times i got dell to replace it with a brand new one...

Mine also took about 4 working days from when it was ordered to arrive at my house... it looked pretty darn new to me the only thing made made my raise an eyebrow was a "video testing" CD still in the drive and if it is a refurb their is absolutely no sign of it

Its still within the return period; since i got this laptop last friday (i had to return and refund the last laptop, so its considered a new build, so that means i called it in with 2 days of use)

I payed $2100, thats a hell lot of money to get a used laptop... >_>
