Hello, i've noticed while running games, my laptop gets very hot, very quick. I would say within two hours, it's hot enough to the point where you dont want to put your hand on there for long. The part that gets the most hot, is the left side. The Ethernet port and such. Here is a quick pic of the temps after playing a game for about a hour and a half. Do these look normal?

Everything else pretty much remains cool, except for the bottom and the side. My lappy is also on a ZMNC-100 cooling pad. Thanks.

Which model notebook? also have you cleaned your fans?

Also make sure your fan(s) align to the cooler's vents or its useless

It's a XPS M1530, the fans are clean. I just got the laptop the other day. I'll make sure they align. Do these temps seem dangerouse or out of the ordinary at all?

Edit: Note, those temps are while the game that was running for about a hour or more were still active, the temps are pretty low otherwise. Just wondering if those gaming temps are off.

Those should be fine, especially if its a new laptop.

Awsome! Thanks. I've been having this program running while i'm gaming to monitor the temps, it seems like my GPU can get up to 172F (72C) at times (i'm sure it might go higher if I played longer, I hope that's alright. It does cool down as soon as the applicagion, in this case being the game, is closed.

Those are pretty normal temps. If you would like lower check out i8kfan, it has not been checked for the xps line but still worth a shot. You can control your fans .

Ok I will do that, thank you very much X2P. I've noticed after playing for awhile sometimes games will hicup for a second or so. I didnt know if that was related to the increasing GPU Temp.

Probably driver issues more then temp. If your close to the 100s (over 90C) then that would be the case but drivers and make sure you dont have stuff like msn or useless processes open.

Normal temps. I get around the same after stressing the laptop with hours of gaming. The GPU goes up to ~70 C, even if it's not overclocked.

On idle, the CPU is around ~50 C, and the GPU is around ~65 C.

Starting to get worried again, ran the same temp monitoring software while playing a game for about 30 mins, it got up to around 80c, still normal? Just wondering because i've heard it's not that good if it gets into the 90c range.
