It's been months before taking this decision![]()
I know that now there are better 15" gaming laptops like the sager N8660, Asus G50V,... I can afford to pay for them
but the problem in my country (Egypt) there are no stores for them and warranty is very important to me. I don't want too go through the hassle of shipping for any needed maintenance cause i didn't ship anything before and i can't live withput the laptop for too long.
Today i found a dell store that sells the T9500 which wasn't available and i decided to buy it.
I hope i don't regret buying it.
My Question is can i play games like wow (61 fps) and other strategy games like command and conquer 3, red alert 3,... Maxed?
Another question: I don't know what version of vista (32 or 64) they are selling, but if it is a 32 bit, can i easily upgrade it or i need to buy an original vista cd? (they are offering 4Gb ram, but i don't think they know about the limitation)
Last question: Is the 1280x800 a good resolution on 15" notebooks?
-
T9500 is a Nice Processor mate and Yes you can play C&C3 with High Settings and wow hmm i never played it so i can't comment
and U need to update to x64 freshly 'cuz we can't upgrade from 32bit to 64bit.
I would say 1400x900 is Good Resolution -
Hey! Congrat's on your purchase!
Welcome to the 1530 Posse! LOL
I have the 1400x900, but if your screen works for you...That's all that matters!~ Enjoy!

I don't know which is offered the 1280 or the 1400. Hope it is the 1400x900
Sorry but what do you mean by freshly? Do they offer the original vista or i have to buy new one?
Edit: Thanks Cin
Does the sound good btw? -
You can get both screens on the 1530
You purchased already, correct? If so, check your invoice/spec sheet and it will list which screen you have!
You can get Vista Premium, Ultimate, or Business edition (at least you should be able to) In the US that is offered.
I have premium and it works well for my needsAnd, premium should be included in your pricing if you didn't upgrade!

Thanks
I didn't purchase yet...it was a ad on the newspaper...just written T9500, 4Gb ram, 320GB hdd, vista Home premium and the price about $2400
Unfortunately we can't customize here in Egypt. -
What is the warranty?
Wow..that price is just wowsa!
Cin -
I'll go ask them today
i think the warranty is at least 1 year. The good thing is that i can go give it to them any time without shipping. Dell worldwide's warranty doesn't cover here, so if i wanted the dell i should get it from here if i want warranty
Nice Smileys btwYour avatar is a smiley by itself
-
Good!Good! You would have to have a one year..Now did you want to add to the warranty? You should check that out if you want. Yes, that's nice w/out shipping!Right!
Let us know the full spec's and all once you get it!
Oh and thanks, I like the smiley's alot!

i don't like to miss the day...its the best time to relax
i can't wait to have it....i ordered one from the states months ago with almost the same price ($700) but there was a problem with the credit card. After some months of searching and Frustration i returned to it again, i don't think i need more than that now
I don't play FPS which i can see they require a high end graphics card. I do some photoshop and engineering softwares like Solid edge, CAD, and Excel solver.
Could a gaming gfx operate these (photoshop,...) well? or i need the Quadro?
nice to meet you Cin -
paper_wastage Beat this 7x7x7 Cube
u dont need a graphics card to operate photoshop..
though stuff like CAD do benefit from quadro... u could mod ur nvidia driveres to give you more quadro opengl benefits
photoshop rumor next-revision to include GPU support(GPU processing, much faster) -
If i mod the drivers will this affect the gaming ability of the card? or i get both benefits?
At last...i'll get xps M1530
