    From earlier in the thread:

And the cfg file is in the directory where you installed RivaTuner in case you didn't know. Just open it with notepad to edit.

GPUTool worked flawlessly for my HD3650, without any modding :)

    thanks @ Bryan ;D

    disappointingly i cud only reach 5330 point with 3dmark 2006 on 1280*1024....

overclocking my 4670 ati to 775(gpu) and 975(memory) exactly gained me 15 extra points?!!

    hows that possible??

Even if you have stock settings, for some reason you get much higher FPS with powerplay enabled.

I was running FurMark at 1080p with no AA and without powerplay I was at about 11 FPS, with powerplay I was around 18

oh really that sounds odd, cuz most games like battlefield 2 run much smoother without powerplay. whenever i have powerplay enabled i experience short frame rate drops while playing...

Ok so I have my Clock set to 752/870... I find this is pretty safe. Now if we can only find a way to overclock the CPU I will be happy

I made the experience that the Notebook crashes if I put the MemoryClock too high, without raising the CoreClock.

Also, some games seem to be more tolerate to overclocking than others, while I see a few Artifacts in 3Dmark06, I do not see any in COD6 or Oblivion.

@sheikhstone try lowering the CoreClock, maybe you can then rise the MemoryClock.
Also you could try SETFSB, a programme that can be used to overclock core2duo processors.
The newest version costs 500Yen though, thats about 3-4Dollar.

he he...Mkelliny & Co, no fancy word to spread now ???? (ive been saying since day one that you can OC SXPS 16)
    how hard can it be.............

edit.....by the way, snitch ???, yeh, i might snitch some Top Secret material to your mothers, so be aware for God sake....
back to reality, seems you are real dumb¤ss who need more practice about overclocking......thats for sure.

have you tried modded driver ????

    ps....
i use my old PA-13 130W AC Adapter.....gives MUCH better power with OCing, (the 90 W cant handle this high watt values, especially with Ati.4670...
i can "guarantee" that some of you 4670 owners will fry your PA-3E adapters if you keep on playing with this high OC, they dont last forever)

i used same AC Adapter when i OCed my Inspiron 9400 to maximum power long time ago.....same voltage (19.5 v), thats the only important you need to remember :)

PA-13 can be had for like $20 on ebay. That's not a big deal considering notebook would be $1500-2000.

I am trying this trick on a Ati mobility radeon 3650 without success on a Dell Studio 1737 with the Ati mobility 9.11 drivers for Windows 7 x64 ultimate.

I have succeded in adding the model number in rivatuner and going to
the overclocking tab but when I change the clocks and click apply
nothing happens.Even in GPU-Z the clocks stays the same.

    Thanks for your help

I found that you can use powerstrip to change the clocks on the 3670, it's a bit tempremental about when it decides to change the clock speed but sometimes it manages it. I know this because I got fed up with it and out of frustration put my VRAM at 870, it black screened hence it definitely changed something. It's just a bit of a pain in the to get it to actually apply the settings, which is what I got so frustrated about and why I uninstalled it. Maybe someone else with more patience will have more success then me

Just finished some testing with 3dmark06, overclocking the 4650 in Studio 17. I got it stable enough for testing at 746/892 using GPUTool and RivaTuner, and received 7805. This is in 1200x800 resolution as my system does not support 1280x1024. Box itself is Studio 17 with i820 proc, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and ATI 4650. That's not too shabby.

All you guys with the 4670 on the XPS 16, what res are you running 3dmark06?

I don't have the 1280x800 option in the program...closest is 1280x768 (I have the RGBLED screen).

the standard 3dmark06 res is 1280*1024 so if u run it on lower res u can't compare ur score to standard res scores..
