Well after a month long headache Dell has finally sent me a new laptop (not a refurb) to replace my M1710.

One big issue I have and I'm trying to figure out my options.

Onboard sound BLOWS compared to my M1710. It's got to be the subwoofer I am missing. The highs also seem off when listening to tunes or watching a DVD. Game audio is ok - at least I can't tell a difference there.

So - what are my options? I don't want to lug a pair of headphones around and those Creative Ear Buds hurt my ears... lol

I was looking at the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme ExpressCard option. Is that the only option for beefing up the sound on the M1730? Are there any other choices? Advice please...

Oh and I do have the Sound Blaster Audigy MB software - just never really liked it. Doesn't really seem to do much. I messed around with it and it just made it worse. For what its worth, I'm using the Sigmatel (R171786) driver released on 6/13/08.
