Hello,
Does anyone know whether or not my m1530 laptop automatically stays on "High Performance" while it is plugged in? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere a while ago that this was the case.
Whenever I leave my laptop on overnight I switch the power plan to "Balanced"...is doing this just a waste of time?
Thanks

Since this thread has reached half-way down the second page with 0 replies I'll assume nobody knows about this? I guess I'll just keep switching to "Balanced" before closing the lid.
Thanks -
it should be whatever you set it for in power options.

I just saw this thread now. If you're interested and still see this answer, or for anyone else interested, here is what I believe to be the answer to your question.
The power plan (High Performance, Balanced, et al.) does not change with the power source. The Power plans do come with 2 profiles, one for when the laptop is on AC power and the other for when it is being powered by the battery.
So you can create a profile (or modify an existing profile) so the laptop acts like "High Performance" when it is plugged in and like "Balanced" or "Power Saver" when on battery.
Or you can configure it however you wish, but, bottom line, one power profile is all you need as it contains separate provisions for battery and AC, as I said above. -

Cool. So I guess I am saving power by switching to "Balanced" before leaving it on for the night.
Thanks -
Is there any way to set it so that when it's unplugged it goes into low graphics setting and into high performance graphics when it's plugged in?

Again, each profile has two sub-profiles: one for when the system is on AC and one for when it is on battery. Just set those how you like them.
Automatically changes to "High Performance" when plugged in?
