Average time it takes to get a dell?

I ordered my xps m1530 on may 16, estimated delivery= june 19, who here has gotten their dell on time, prior to when dell says they will deliver, or longer than expected?

 

I think you'll probably get it before the 19th. I ordered on the 25th and I have an EDD of the 18th. What was your exact order you may have some parts that are getting delays right now.

 

I got my M1330 in 4 days, when told the build delay is 5 weeks. This was during the tail end of the M1330 parts shortage in Sept 07

Maybe I'm the only one. Or probably someone in the q cancelled.

 

Srry to clarify I ordered mine on the 27th of may, cancelled because I realized I didn't want the WUXGA screen, reordered on the 30th of may for the LED screen, and got an estimated delivery for june 19-21.

By the way Lord Egregious my laptop is identical to yours except it's midnight blue, does paint delay it usually??

 

I ordered mine on the 28th of May and my EDD is June 18th. I really hope I get it soon, I am dieing with the wait, lol.

I ordered my 1530 at the beginning of January, and estimated delivery was about a week later. While in production a part was on *backorder* so they had to "refresh the order" (basically start all over).

So, it pushed the 1530 build process back about 2 weeks ~ total delivery time for me was almost 2.5 weeks. If, there wouldn't have been an issue with the *backorder*, delivery would've been about a week.

I think you will find that alot of people either get their notebooks either ahead of estimated delivery time, or at a later date if there is an issue during the build process

You should be good then. They are having delays on the T9300 and they stopped offering the 1680x1050 screen so I assume they are having issues there too. Of course the 6 cell is slow but theres not much the average person can do to get around that.

 

Depends on what you order. I got the 9 cell, i ordered on the 12'th of May, EDD for May 28, got it on the 19'th! What a surprise. I know many other folks that ordered their lappy with the 6 cell a week or 2 before me and are still waiting.

^ I am still waiting for them to ship me JUST a damn battery! I had my laptop 4-5 days only before it died and they told me they would ship it right away and I should receive it 1-2 business days. Just about 10 days later and it is STILL not shipped.

 

ha yeah. Its hard to tell just what makes for a quick dell. Luck is the biggest part of dell ordering.

 

I ordered a Inspiron 1520 with a 9 cell battery last night, and I called customer service today to ask if they would be back ordered. My estimated ship date is 6/17/2008. She asked for my number and said she would call back once they knew if it was back ordered or not. She said it would be probably around thursday that I would know.

It sucks because I'm going on a vacation on the 13th, and I wouldn't be able to do any work for 3 weeks! If it's not back ordered I might upgrade to 2 day shipping. I'll update when I find out.

 

Ordered on the 22nd, supposed to ship on the 9th, EDD the 12th. I think the XPS's are just so popular right now they are really backed up.

 

How long have you been in boxing?

 

I am really happy, I ordered mine on the 28th of May and it has been in boxing since yesterday, I also have overnight shipping. When do you guys think it will come to me.

 

I ordered my on the 30th, and it too is in boxing, I think everything is just speeding up?

Took me about 15 days initial order. Took 4 days for brand new rebuilt replacement.

Today the status changed to shipped, and the estimated delivery date is 6/10!!! I sent them an email to upgrade to 2 day shipping, just so that I can be guaranteed its arrival before I leave. That's crazy though, since I've heard of most people waiting 2 weeks usually. I guess what I ordered was all in stock, yay. Will reply when I get it.

 

It actually came a day early on 6/09! Exactly one week. Very impressed with the service, but not so much with the customer service I had to deal with. ("I'll give you a call Thursday"-- I didn't get a phone call until after it after it arrived today, but who gives!!!!)

Screen looks great, good keyboard and buttons, XP works great, and the 3 gb of RAM is heaven. Also, the 9 cell battery lasts forever. It's estimated at 4.5 hours when I just surf the web and do coding!
