I'm assuming that many of you are gamers since you purchased the XPS.

Can you give me any recommendations on games that really take advantage of the XPS 1530 and are awsome to play?

    thanks in advance!!

Bioshock - I can run it at HIGH everything (including DX10 shaders) and 1440x900 at around 25fps

Mass Effect - can run HIGH everything at 1440x900

Spore - new game, pretty fun

LOL! The OP is asking for games that take advantage of the M1530. Although Blizzard's games are well designed they do cater to the mass market with average systems. WOW isn't really that taxing unless you're doing multi-man raids with graphics set to high.

Your best bet is checking out the Games Forum for good suggestions. Although it ran average I managed to play Crysis on my lappy with medium settings and it still looked good. Too bad the game overall was 'meh'.

And Sins of a Solar Empire looks great on it as well (so does EVE w/ the enhanced graphics update).

I have, but not recently; it did run well, as long as the DX10 mode isn't on.

Games that look purdy on our laptops are:

World in Conflict (because we can run it high settings)
Company of Heroes (because we can run it high settings)
Call of Duty 2/4 (because we can run it high settings)
UT III (because we can run it high settings)
CS Source (because we can run it high settings)

Not Crysis . . . because it makes our laptops look weak (or just about every laptop/desktop).

i like the oldies such as UT 2004, battlefront.... etc, also played team fortress 2 with high settings, and it still gives off 80 fps (110 fps when overclocking) also i have played Garrys mod witch uses the HL2 engine and it runs smoothly and beautifully, would like to try flight simulator X, see how it does. but overall the xps m1530 is a great gaming lappy :D

and EvE online runs like a charm on very high settings with premium graphics.

NFS Carbon is also set for me at HIGHEST setting. :) the cars look slick and i grew crowds when i play it..... hehehe..... maybe because the people looking at the game are playing DOTA/WoW..... :)

they can't believe a detailed graphic racing game can be run on a laptop..... humble me answered that laptops nowadays are modern....... but actually, it's the hidden power of our XPS lappy... :)

Hey guys I tried Crysis: Warhead on my XPS and it runs okay! Pretty good on mainstream. TBH not so sure what all the hype was about, the gameplay is pretty average.

Anyway anybody have other suggestions for some good games? I am going to get Need for Speed and play it using my Xbox 360 controller and I tried the demo of Company of Heroes and it works really well.

Anybody tried how Gears of War runs on the XPS?

A suggestion I would give is Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. I haven't played the PC version yet but it looks pretty good and is designed independently of the Console versions. I have it on PS3 and 360 so might be tempted to get the PC one for a different gameplay experience.
