    Hi guys

I've reinstalled my XPS 17 with a fresh W7 installation to remove all the Dell crap.

Everything is working, but the backlit keyboard doesn't work.
I can't find any driver or something related to it on Dell's website.

If I look in the folder of Quickset, I see a file called "BackLitKB.exe" and when I open it, It gives me a warning "Can't detect backlit keyboard".

I'm sure my laptop has got a backlit one, because it worked before I reinstalled it.

Does anybody know how to make it work?

    Greetzzz

Go into your BIOS and load setup defaults.
I'm not sure what your problem is, I had the L501X and the backlit didn't need any driver to work.

    Doesn't change anything.
Quickset tells the same thing and the buttoncombinations don't work.

Maybe it has something to do with the things I've unchecked in msconfig.
The processes that boot at launch

Did you open you machine at all? If yes, it could be the backlit cable that is not fully plugged.

The backlit keyboard driver/functionality is on the BIOS level, you don't need a .exe to run within Windows to function.

It is either broken or cable has been unplugged.

Actually I didn't open up my laptop or something like that.
I don't even have experience in opening laptops without damaging them
