I'm aware that <Fn> F6 toggles the backlit keyboard off, low and high, but is there a setting to force the backlighting to be always on?

    Thanks.

Tap the left-most touch button above the keyboard. There is a setting there for how long before the backlight on the keyboard should dim. Default is 1 min IIRC, just set it to never or similar. I'd post a screeny for you but I don't have my system with me atm.

That's what he was looking for...

Actually, now I see what you mean. Click on the icon (the keyboard) for the backlight adjustment. Then you get there. I'm glad the OP found it without me mentioning it...My bad!

NO. Tap the touch button as I said. Then CLICK on the icon for the keyboard backlight that shows up in the screen that pops up. It will get you to a new window where you can adjust the time out on the backlight, I promise...

Yea I missed it at first too, I just remembered seeing someone else post how to do it. I haven't bothered changing mine, though I might increase the time out a little, 1min is a tad quick sometimes. But I just hit shift or something and it comes back, so meh.

I have tried what you have said but my computer doesn't seem to have this option. It's an L702x but even Dell said that there is no way to change the time it is on. Could someone plz post some pics so I can see what is wrong? Thx

Ok, help me out here. What is "the left-most touch button above the keyboard."???

I have a Dell XPS 13. I see that F6 makes the keyboard light come on, but I'd like it to stay lit longer. Thanks

Same question. There is also no pop-up window when I toggle the backlit keyboard settings by pressing Fn+F6.

Open mobility centre and the options for the keyboard will be there under the Dell section - you can open it with the gear icon touch button
