    Battlefield 3 Crashing (GT 540m)

    My 1st time gaming with a mouse and keyboard enjoying it But the crashes are staring to to get annoying,has anyone come up with any fixes or have any suggestion to improve performance, sometimes i can play for 10,30 mins or an hour.
    Playing with medium and high settings AA + AF at 30+ fps with the GF overclocked to 770/990.

    Does this happen with any other games?

    I hope its not the same thing I had I had a very similar system with the same graphics card but it happend with various games that pushed my L502X to use the GPU card near its max potential.

    With my situation its a minority of people who have this deffect but its a construction issue with the laptop that when plugged in and the GPU is running at higher power states it will freeze up entirely/partially/or cause video driver crash and its sometimes from 5 minutes in to 45 minutes in depending on the settings.

    The only temporary but in my opinion not satisfactory fixes are down grading the settings of your games and underclocking your video card so bad its not going to perform well, using only the intergrated graphics that dont seem to cause this issue, or getting motherboards replaced constantly...

    I had my L502X with 2720QM i7 chipset GT540 card and dell replaced the motherboard 2 times, replaced the hard drive, replaced the heat paste, replaced the AC adaptor and did 4-5 i forget reinstalls of the entire operating system+drivers... the one thing that helped for temporary times (1-3 months at a time) was replacing the motherboard helped but it seemed to fix it only for some time. Not sure how many hours playing plugged in it would take but eventually my system would experience the same type of lock ups again first with less frequency 1-2 hours and eventually back to the same unplayble frequency 5-45 minutes of crashes.

    I was eventually able to get them to agree after months of calls and complaints to replace my system and since they took so long to and I had to wait so much I asked for an upgrade to the video card. It was a mild upgrade but I got the L702X now with the 550GT and all the other components the same 1080p blu ray etc the warranty should cover you for equal or better components if dell tech reps will agree its not a repairable condition.

    Im hoping you just have some driver issue as my story is not super common many people have the L502X with GT540M card and can play awsome and even overclock the card well but in case you start running in circles with fixes and nothing works keep my story in mind...
