Making a fresh Win7x64 installation over my SXPS1640+ATI4670 system, I wonder which GPU driver would be the best one for Win7x64:
    Win7 RTM included driver
    ATI Catalyst 9.7 CCC WHQL
ATI Catalyst 9.8 CCC (just released!!!)
    Dell driver ver.8.603.1.0000
ATI Catalyst 9.7 w/o CCC modified with .inf files SKD9.7WOW64bit
ATI Catalyst 9.7 CCC modified with ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0

Anyone got any good/bad experience with one of these? Or maybe any other alternative driver?

It would be great to install ATI Catalyst 9.7 w/o CCC modified with .inf files SKD9.7WOW64bit (which seems to be the fastest one) and than to find a tool supporting just the basic functions like ATI had got once in CP, before they have released this *&^% CCC using .NET (still using the old ATI NGO 173 driver with my previous laptop, working flawlessly with ATI CP)

    ATI Catalyst 9.8 CCC.

Or just use ATI Tray Tools with 9.7 w/o CCC if you really don't want CCC.

EDIT: Looks like they have removed support for mobility cards. Mobility modder works fine though.

So, are the 9.8 beta mobile drivers the best choice or do I need to modify the other drivers and install them?

Use the proper mobile version if you are running Win7.

There's no point editing the desktop version.
