Vista Home Premium 64 bit would be a good choice with 4 GB of RAM.

Vista 64-bit, plus an XP32 install if you play a lot of old games. Best of both worlds.

Yes, you will need the 64 bit drivers. But there is a thread with all of them for the M1530 for easy access.

    Linux should be a choose
    and maybe even OSX
Windows isn't the only OS you know...
I don't have one but once I get one (M1340, or 1540 one of them)
It's be running Dreamlinux for main OS
xp 64bit lite edition for gaming
and vista 32bit just cause it came with it... It probably won't get touched...

I have the Vista 32 bit....but am seriously considering the 64 bit, after reading all the feedback about the 64 bit on the forum, and talking to those I know that have it ;) :)

Alas, I am known to be a *procrastinator* so we will see how long it actually takes for me to make the switch ;) :p

    Cin ;) :)

I must admit, despite my PC having a better CPU, Vista performs better on my laptop... because my laptop has 4GB, whereas my PC only has 2GB.
