Hi,
I was wondering what the best temperature monitor is for a Dell XPS L702. I'm currently using SpeedFan, but I'm getting some weird results and I'd like a second opinion. I tried going into the BIOS to check my temps but there doesn't see to be an option to do so. May I know what is the preferred temperature monitor for this laptop?
Thank you.

CoreTemp( Core Temp) for CPU and GPU-Z( Download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.6.2 | techPowerUp) for GPU temp

I am using HWMonitor since I got my laptop. It monitors GPU, CPU, HDD's and showing some other useful info.

Hi,
Thanks for the recommendations. I decided to go with HWMonitor but I have one question. Are the downloads from the main site and cnet download.com different? Because I downloaded it from cnet and I'm getting different readings than what I see in the screenshot on the main site ( http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html). For example, the temperature readings in the screenshot are listed as GPU and CPU, whereas when I run HWMonitor I see Core 0 and Core 1. There's also fan information in the screenshot that I don't get when I run HWMonitor. There are a few other differences as well, is the download from cnet out of date?
Thanks again. -

Thanks for the explanation seeker moc.
I just have one more question about HWMonitor's readings.
Which temperature reading corresponds to the GPU? I see temperature readings for TZ00, TZ01, Core 0, Core 1, Package, Assembly, and Air Flow.
Thanks again. -

I don't think HWMonitor shows the GPU readings and this may be due to optimus or something which is why you should use GPU-Z for the gpu temperature.
Also, for CPU temps, I use throttlestop. For some reason, hwmonitor (at this moment) is reporting that my cpu is at 29C whereas throttlestop reports it at 44C), and I think 44C is more accurate.. -
You have to enable the GPU to see the temps for it otherwise they will be missing and yes it's a optimus issue will using HWMonitor.
It's a pain but start a programing thar uses the GPU and then start HWM and it shows the temps for he gpu. -
Hm, that's interesting conscriptvirus. The reason I wanted to switch from SpeedFan is because I wanted more accurate readings. I usually get 40-50 for core temps at idle using HWMonitor and 50-60 using SpeedFan. I was hopin that HWMonitor readings were correct, but are you saying that HWMonitor reports lower temperatures?
Also, thanks IKAS V, I'll try that.
Best temperature monitor?
