:( No, its the base model from dell

    BB>
    13.3" WXGA widescreen display w/Built-in 2.0-megapixel webcam

    Dell>
Edge-to-Edge 13.3" HD WXGA LCD with 2.0 Megapixel Camera [Included in Price]
Edge-to-Edge 13.3" HD WXGA Slim WLED LCD with 1.3 Megapixel Camera [add $125 or $4/month1]

The LCD screen has a 2.0MP camera and the LED has the 1.3MP cam. So the BB model definitely has the cheapest, LCD.

Yet another reason I wouldn't buy a notebook from them....

(@ the OP--if you're looking at a Dell, might be good to check out the Dell Outlet just for kicks at least)

Yes I have a dell mini 9 and a mini 12. The mini 9's LED screen is definitely better than the LCD in the mini 12.

i dont have any issue with my 1340 from bestbuy but ive never seen a LED screen so i cant be the judge, but imo the non-LED looks just fine for this size of a laptop

I purchased my 1340 from BestBuy and I have no problems with it. At my time of purchase the exact same laptop through Dell directly would have started at 1199 US where as I paid 999. So to talk down to this model is ridiculous, for the price this computer is a power house, and for a non gamer the screen is more then sufficient, I have also seen the LED model, and it does not justify the additional 200 I would have had to spend through dell PLUS the additional 125 for the LED upgrade!! Also, not to mention that Dell's 1199 doesn't include bluetooth whil BB's 999 DOES.

If you actually call dell and put your order through a rep you can get pretty significant discounts and extras y'know.

I just brought this Best Buy Verison of the xps Studio 1340 which is the sx13-163B. I really like it. Yes at first I was a little bummed out about the HD screen. But you know what after you play with the Nvidia settings I get some real nice color in this.

I'm not much of a game player but I have downloaded some demo versions for Need for Speed (since it's the only game these days I understand how to play) and you know what it's great. For $899.99 I can't complain.

Yes I could of gotten the same specs with a high def screen for 200 more at 1099. or a hybird video card for and high deff screen for $359 more at 1249. and the whole ball and wax for $500 more for $1399 which includes an led screen and a 500 gig hard drive and a processor with the same amount of cache only 100 mhz faster (p 8700) also the same hybird video card. Is it nice? yes. Do I even want it? sure do. But I'm not going to cry about what I got. in fact for under a 1000 I have the same processing power for speed just like the one for 1249. (the video card in the 1249 one is better but not that great. If I was going to spend the difference of $359.00 I would want an awsum video card.) in addition I almost have the same power less 100 mhz which has no effect compaired to there flagship model at this level for $500.00 less. if I want the 500 gig drive I can get a seagate 7200.4 at zipzoom fly for 139.00 which would make my cost total 1038.00 which is still $61.00 less than there $1099 with the same 9400m g video card which plays my games just fine.

For me to be practical I am happy with what I got and it is still a good deal even though it's from Best Buy, Just transfer the ownership to dell support and you can be warrenteed by them instead of the messed up squad (geek squad)

It really does not matter that much about the screen if you are not playing games.. of course the LCD is better.. but it's not a deal breaker.

Again the dell outlet can get this laptop with a LED screen and the same specs or better than Best Buy for $650-$750
But if buying new.. the best buy one is fine if you really don't care about the screen (which you mostly likely shouldn't).. Plus the best buy one.. you can test it in the store to confirm that you like it.. and if you like it.. what is there to worry about?
