Hello, are you sick of your M1530 fan coming in and out? Why couldn't Dell make it so that it spins at a very low rpm instead of completely stopped? Even if the fan spin at a very low speed, it would keep the temperature very low during idle and it would also be virtually silent. If you support this idea, please head over to

and register to promote it. It could be a simple bios change or utility.

    Thanks

i dont know about you, but i use the fan as an indicator, if its a half rpms it means my temps are ok, when it is at max means im stressing my gpu/cpu, and when it goes completely silent im like "woah! shhhhh " i love my fan just the way it is, and i love it more when it shuts off completely and i hear the birds cheer lol.

if its at such a low rpm it would just be making noise and have minimal impact on the overall temperature of your gpu / cores.

If the fan can spin as slowly as my brother's vostro 1400, you won't hear it and you can still hear your birds cheer =). I am not saying to rework the entire fan, but right now it seems like it is either off/medium/high. I just want them to add a silent low to it.

That is totally untrue, right now I have a notebook cooler blowing less than 10 cfm through the bottom hole of the laptop. My laptop idles happily at 55C with the internal fan shut off. If I don't have the notebook cooler, the fan would stay off until 70C and start making lots of noise. The temp would then drop back to 55C and the fan would stop completely. The cycle just keeps on going.

Doesn't the A09 bios for the M1530 have the fan constantly spinning at a low RPM now?

should i mention that this also may lead to premature wear of the fan. its gonna work much longer
(example 10 mins every hour, about 240mins a day VS 60mins an hour :p,1440mins a day)

lets not forget, more electricity/battery usage/drainage.

some people would not mind it to keep temps down, but overall most people enjoy quite laptops
