Hey guys my m1530 has caused a LOT of problems over the past year from failed hdmi ports, to failed graphics cards and i think this one takes the cake.

i was webbrowsing watching videos when suddenly my laptop crashed severely with the BSOD and messages regarding "crash dump" and then the screen went black.

Now the laptop will turn on but nothing will display on screen. The backlight seems to be on for a little while and then shuts off.

The characteristic power button at the top lights up when you push it, but doesnt stay on. I have no idea what this problem is whether it stems from the LCD screen to the graphics card or to some other problem.

Please help. If you have any more questions to maybe help solve this problem please ask!!

    Thanks!!

If you are able to get upto the BIOS screen , reinstall vista....it may solve the problem.

If u aren't out of warranty, you could just call Dell.

You could try removing the battery and powering it on from the mains only.

If it wont even power on, I'd guess that there is a generalized mainboard failure.
