Is anyone using Vista Ultimate's Bitlocker Drive Encryption with their Dell M1530? If you are, what is your experience with it? Does it slow down your machine or cause any other problems?

I believe that I'll need a password AND a USB flash drive each time I want to log into my machine, is that true?

It can be a little annoying to set up sometimes, but it shouldn't slow down your computer's performance. As for the verification, it depends on how you configure it. You can have it use a password, or a USB key, or both. Be aware that if you forgot the password or lose the USB key, you will not be able to access your computer without doing a complete wipe of the HDD.

I guess that IS what I am looking for. I definitely don't want there to be any workarounds for for people to reach my data without the password.

I am just a bit worried to install it on my machine. I just don't want to have to deal with having to re install the whole OS if something goes horribly wrong.

Is anyone else currently using it smoothly?
