    Hey all,
Yesterday while I was on my XPS 1530 laptop, the colors on the screen turned all screwy and then it crashed to blue screen. Odd... so I rebooted, a few minutes later the same thing happened again.
It happened about 5 more times until when I tried to turn on my computer, the backlight on the screen would go on, but the screen itself would remain black.

I can actually hear it booting up normally, it even makes the window log-in noise, but there is simply no image on the screen at all. I even hooked up my external monitor to my laptop, but absolutely nothing comes up on it.

I'd give you a dxdiagnostic if i could, but obviously I can't get one for my laptop right now, but it has dual-core processors w/ a Gefore m8400 card

The warranty ran out in December, and this laptop cost me over $2000...
    Am I screwed? :(

    Thanks in advance!

sounds like the m8400 is the culprit. Not sure what you can do about it though. I'm sure someone who is more familiar with the 1530 can help you

No you are not screwed - i bet my money the GPU failed. Call Dell since it is covered by the NVIDIA Fu**up coverage. Your warranty was extended by Dell for 1 year covering this type of failure.
