    Hello people,

Let make the story short. Dell sends me a brand new replacement for my XPS M1530. I got Intel T8300 2.4GHz instead of my T7700 which I am not going to complain about it. I have the same hard drive, memory (please look at my signature), and Vista Ultimate. Well these things really make me happy with Dell. The problem is they gave me WUXGA screen. I know from looking at the invoice that I might go blind with that high resolution. Yes, it is $200 upgrade, but I would take LED WXGA+ instead.

I am emailing Dell customer service right now. I haven’t even opened the box yet because I want to see what Dell might do, and I don’t want to cheat Dell either (don’t want the laptop to be refurbished). They have been good to me so far. I am not either mad or happy. I am glad to get a new laptop but don’t want to go blind either. Any comments guys? :(

If they want me to keep the laptop, I might sell it on ebay and wait for new XPS on November?

You can adjust the resolution, as you probably already know, but then it looks awful. Selling it may be a good idea. You can wait for a nvidia 9x series card and other upgrades. Good luck

You're lucky with Dell! Toshiba won't warranty my broken power on button because it's plastic and they said I probably hit the button too hard. Can you believe that? Don't buy Toshiba because they won't honor their warranty!!!

Firstly Going blind? like saying reading the paper will cause it = nonsence.

Secondly everything looks soooo.. much better on it, even if you don't like small text you can just up the dpi and it text looks like a 1440*900 except picture quality is a hell of a lot better. If I were you I'd keep the wuxga, you will not regret it.

I would open it up and give it a try(If there is a return period for the new one), but I know I would not trade my LED 1440x900 for anything right now, I love it, is the best laptop screen I have seen to date. I know my friend has the 1920, but its on a 17" and there was no way i was getting that on a 15". Its all personal preference my friend, most people that go with the 1920 watch a lot of movies(not that I dont, I think the 1440 is more than suffice) but if Im watching HI-def its going to be on the plasma, not my laptop screen....the 15" IMO is not meant to be a full media computer like a 17" is a compromise between mobility and performance.

I don't really impress with WUXGA. It is too tiny for my taste, and I would rather have LED because it is brighter than WUXGA. I think WUXGA is too dim for me.
