I am trying to install a blu-ray drive in my studio xps 1340 and can't find much info on the process. There is a lot out there on the 16 version, but I don't know if this same process would work on the 13 inch model. I was also wondering which drives would be best for this and then how to install a driver to get this drive to work.
For instance I found the following drive for the 16 inch version:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewItem&item=160644489089&category=158815&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619#ht_5665wt_1185
Would this work in the 13 inch model and if so what type of a driver would I need in order for it to work correctly?
Thanks for any help, just trying to keep up with the technology these days, since it seems that it is only a matter of time before movies won't even come out with a dvd version.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Optical drives should pretty much be the same, Studio XPS 16__ utilize slot loaded as well. You might need to transfer the screws/that interposer I see on the Service Manuals.
You shouldn't need a driver for an optical drive. What you will need is Blu-Ray software (~50-100) to properly play Blu-Ray movies. -
