    Hey everyone,

I'm considering upgrading my dvd/rw drive to a blu-ray drive in my m1530 but I have a few questions. First, will the blu-ray drive from Dell burn dual layer (50gb) BD discs as well as single layer? Also, is there a way to burn blu ray movies? I have no interest in burning my own content on blu-ray discs but my collection of high-def movies is growing and I'd like to back them up. Lastly, is this a good time to upgrade or should I wait it out a while and see what happens as the technology develops? Thanks a lot guys and girls, I called Dell but got disconnected and cant get through to them now. They're not much help anyways.

Also, I read that AnyDvdHD from slysoft (slysoft.com) will take off any copy-right protection from blu-ray movies? Is this accurate? Does it actually burn the movies or just remove the copyright protection? If it does burn the movies, will it burn dual layer discs? And will the burnt movie play in any blu-ray player? Thanks!

AnyDVDHD means that when any protected media is put into ur drive, the protection is removed

it doesnt burn stuff... what this means that if you have a BluRay movie and you want to back it up to another bluray disc, you can use this to 'remove' the protection and use Nero(or some other program) to burn to ur blank bluray disc

Thanks Paper Wastage. Does anyone know if backups of copyrighted movies burnt with a program such as Nero or Roxio used in conjunction with AnyDvdHD will play in all blu-ray players? Im concerned because the protection is removed that some players won't play the discs. Thanks everyone.
