    Hello

One month ago I received my XPS M1530. In the beginning, I had some blue screens but these disappeared after a format.

This week and last week, however, I received several blue screens again.

    One mentions this:

"Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or back-up utilities. Check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK/F to check for HD corruption and then restart.

    0x000000 24 (0x001904AB, 0xA1DA7980, 0xA1DA767C, 0x8B12AEFE)
    Ntfs.sys - Address 8B12AEFE base at 8B0BF000, datestamp 4764F079"

I've received another one (almost the same as above) referring to win32k.sys.

I've some dumpfiles but I have no idea what to do with them.
I have checked my memory and HDD for errors but found nothing.

Can anyone help me? I love this laptop, but this is extremely annoying ...

    With kind regards

OS is Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bits)

I googled the error message, but didn't find anything useful.

Grab out a Vista disk and do the Memory scan... Bad RAM is a possible cause for this...

I've already tested the RAM with memtest86 and the vista test and nothing was found. Are there any other ways to test the RAM?

Btw, last week my gfx card overheated while playing CoH (even though I had just turned on the laptop and I have had the game since I received my laptop). Everything started to hitch and I turned off the laptop. The day after I tried again and I had artifacts. I didn't use the laptop for 24h, tested again and since then I haven't had any gfx problems ...
Could this have been driver related?

I have heard that some of the drivers can cause BSOD but not sure if that's your case..try changing drivers and run it for a while....cheers!!

    How come you're so sure?

Btw, if it's the HD, do you think I could get the 320GB?
    I have the 200GB (7200rpm), which costs 30$ more, but it's quite noisy which I don't really like in a laptop ...

*edit* my laptop couldn't run on SP1, it lagged too much. Maybe this had something to do with it too?

Should I use a specific HD Diagnostics programm?
I used SeaTools (HD is a Seagate), but no errors show up.

Your video card is dying. Soon you will get weird graphics and then you cannot boot into anything. I had the same problem and they had to replace my motherboard.

I thought it was my RAM to and I tested it and it tested fine. Boot into the diagnostic partition and run a test. It should come up as memory problem.

How do you boot in the diagnostic partition?
And what did you tell Dell as it comes up as a memory problem?
Another BSOD mentioned something about DX, so it could idd be the gfx card. Did it take long for the mecanic to arrive and replace the mobo? I've read that there's a delay in my mobo (the T9300)

Can someone reed dumpfiles on this forum btw? Might be useful.

    *edit* nvm, found it.
    I got this error message:

    "Error code 0333
    Msg: Error code 2000 0333
Msg: User - graphics test waiting for user input. The given error code and message can be used by Dell technical support to help diagnose the problem. Do you want to continue testing?
    Yes, No, Retry."

    Did you have the same?

Could this explain the "pixelated" dvd quality too? Do you have to sent your laptop to Dell or do they send a technicien?

OK, I called XPS tech support today. Seems that error occurs when the user doesn't press the "Y" button :D
Other tests with the Dell Diagnostics tool didn't give any errors.

Anyway, only one possibility left: software.
Is there anyone who can read dumpfiles? Would help me A LOT!!
