On my old Inspiron 6400 I used to be able to right click the Bluetooth icon on the task bar and select 'Turn off' to disable it. It was handy for when using battery and conserving power without turning off the WIFI at the same time.

I know I can do this in control panel, but it's not as convenient and I like the old option. Unfortunately it doesn't appear on the XPS M1530 that I have. And if I use the wireless switch to turn the Bluetooth off it also turns the Wifi off. I know I can configure the switch to do one or the other, but again it's not the best option for me.

So what I am trying to achieve is to find a way to get that option back on the right click menu if possible.

Further to the above, on my old laptop I added my mobile phone as a device and once I'd done that I could send photos to the laptop without having to set the laptop to 'receive a file' each time. This was great for when I was sending around 30 photos at a time via Bluetooth because it took one click and it was done, selecting an option to authorised my mobile for X amount of minutes. On the XPS however I have to select 'receive a file' each time, making it very time consuming indeed.

These two options missing on my new XPS are a pain, does anyone know how to add them please?

    Thanks

I already considered the switch to do WIFI only, but that's not how I want it. I want to be able to use the switch to turn on and off both wireless devices, however I want the extra option of using the Bluetooth icon as described above. That's how I had it on my last laptop. This way I can have a master switch for both, which is useful, and also be able to select WIFI only when I want to conserve battery.

The icon is on the taskbar already, it just doesn't have all the options the other one did.

Bluetooth drivers are already the latest.
