I have a M1330 running Vista Ultimate now and using a Logitech V270.

I've used this mouse with my E1505 for over a year, w/ no problems.

Now I use it on my M1330, and it lags often. Usually when it looks like the computer is doing something resource heavy in the background.

could this just be a vista issue? vista is just laggy as hell?
or is it there's something wrong w/ my bluetooth?

I don't have the WIDCOMM stacker for 32bit vista installed. i'm using just the vista bt stacker. all i need BT for is my mouse and my phone, and it works is this lagginess problem caused by not having the widcomm stack installed? or is vista just stupid?

My experience with Bluetooth has been the same. Try manually uninstalling the drivers (through Device Manager) and reinstalling.

did that fix it for you?

should i install the widcomm stack? i didn't think that makes much of a difference, since you still end up using vista stack, just w/ widcomm's additional features

You know...it is strange that I saw this topic just now. Earlier today, I experienced the same exact thing with a wireless USB mouse(not bluetooth). I would try moving my mouse like I would normally do, but it would move in jitters and spurts. Also, clicks would not register for several clicks at a time. It did feel like my CPU was doing something extremely resource intensive, but it just wasn't. I tried tampering with some pointer speed settings. It does work normally now, but I am not sure it can be attributed to the changes I made with the pointer speed.

Thats what I did to fix it. Bluetooth mice arent all that responsive to begin with, but mine never lags and never misses clicks. You can always call up XPS Tech Support, and they will direct connect and fix the problem.

Kinda off topic but, do you guys know if a BT mouse or wireless USB mouse will use more battery life?

I would assume Bluetooth to be the least consuming of the two. Bluetooth's intention was to be a discrete and efficient wireless technology. W-USB is just your vanilla USB without the wires so I doubt its power management is quite so meticulously thought through.

Especially when W-USB isn't intended (atleast at the moment) for power sparse, function heavy mobile devices.

I have a rocketfish bluetooth mouse and keyboard. Both work awesome. mouse feels comfortable, has buttons to change songs in media player aswell as pause/play/stop buttons. Also the scroll wheel tilts sideways for sideways scrolling.

Keyboard has a really nice feel to it. Runs off 2 AA's and has buttons for nice functions (internet, mail, support, media player, next song, prev song, play, pause, volume up, volume down, mute one button sync.

Also comes with bluetooth dongle if your computer doesn't have bluetooth to receive the bluetooth while plugging into USB. I dont need this but it works, i tried on my desktop with no bluetooth. I really like it and never any lag. Good range to (but thats pretty much standard with bluetooth.)

I'm having the exact same problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling from the Device Manager worked at least for now. Hopefully I won't experience the problem anymore, but I don't see how reinstalling the same driver will generate different results. Isn't that the definition of insanity?

Well, not if you don't think it worked the first time.

In my experience bluetooth mice just don't work so well in general. They're good for day to day but they've almost always got some sort of jitter or latency issue that makes them bad for gaming or other activities where reaction time is important.

After an hour or so, it was apparent that reinstalling the driver didn't work at all. I'm not even doing major things like gaming that require processing speed and quick response. I just don't want it to lag behind 1-3 seconds when I'm browsing the internet.

Like the original post, I used this same mouse for a year with a few different computers and never had this same problem. It's just my M1330 that has the delay. Why would that be? Has anyone contacted the XPS support about this?

Might be poor reception, maybe broken or disconnected antenna? I've seen such a delay from 15 ft away and with low batteries.

I've tried putting in new batteries, and my bluetooth mouse is sitting 6 inches away from my laptop. I wouldn't think that the antenna in my mouse or laptop has issues, but I don't know how to check that.

I've got the Dell Bluetooth mouse and having similar problems but only when I play games. When I'm just using my M1530 normally, on the net etc, everything is responsive and works like it should. However as soon as I go into CS:S or DoD:S, the damn thing jerks all over the place and I can't play with it. I really like this mouse and the fact that it's wireless but this problem is really spoiling it. I thought it was maybe the surface but I bought different mouse pads to try it out on, fabric tops, plastic tops etc.....but they all do the same thing! Argh...

Sorry as in wireless internet? I'm using a cable, not wireless. In order to use bluetooth though, the bluetooth/wifi switch has to be switched on (which you probably know).....so I don't know if that would interfere even if the wifi isn't being used.

I have the same issue with my Vostro 1500 and my logitech MX1000 BT... I am using an older dell bluetooth card though; I was thinking maybe plopping down the $25 for a newer version might help?

I would like to mention that I never had this problem in windows xp...

im having the same problem with a m1530. used the same mouse in the same location on my previous laptop with no problem. i'm thinking its due to shoddy shielding b/w the bluetooth and wifi antennas on these models.

XPS M1330 use same bus for communication.

    1. WiFi
    2. WAN -Broadband Aircards
    2. BT

Since they all are frequency receptors, they can do interfere with each other.

    Try the following:

Place the mouse in a distinct location of the RF sensor (this is normally located by the on/off manual wifi swicth), or perhaps place it right in front of the system and test it. You will see a difference in performance and the lagging will go away.

    Good Luck!
