Is there a trick installing these drivers under Windows 7 for Dell wireless 1510? It says I have the latest version installed which is not true. I installed the ones from support.dell.com for the machine.

An .inf file will work as well since I got the latest driver on the hard drive.

    1. Go to the Device Manager

    2. Find your WLAN Card, and click on "Update Driver Software"

    3. "Browse my Computer for driver software"

    4. "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

    5. "Have Disk"

    6. Find your driver

    7. Select the driver in the window area

    8. Install :)

Unfortunately, Windows 7 says I have the latest drivers already installed. Version number is 5.10.79.14 from support.dell.com.

Anyone else have any trick up their sleeve? :D

Then you're not doing it correctly, this method will install your driver regardless of what it is.

Just FYI, I installed the same driver on the exact same setup and with the instructions above without problem.
