Hi, I just got my xps m1730 a couple weeks ago but it doesn't seem to want to burn disks. I put a disk in and it "rattles and clanks" so to speak and says the drive needs to be formatted, the "drive" not the disk. If I hold the outside of the cd tray it seems to burn disks. Sounds broken to me?

I'd also call Dell and request a replacement optical drive.
