    We're in the same boat. I've purchased a maxed out 1530 using the major discounts available recently. It's still in production (ships the 29th or so), so I have the luxury of waiting for the xps refresh and re-ordering if I so decide. I ordered the T9500 so I'm not really concerned about Montevina, but I would like to see a change in GPU. If Dell drops the 8600GT (please), then I will immediately cancel and reorder.

    Hey fishwiskers, I just ordered too and have an expected arrival date of the 29th too. I wasn't sure whether or not to wait, but i just ordered, if dell announces the montevina before then i can just cancel it and reorder?

    That's why I posted it! :D

    Nah, I don't know much about Sony personally. I am a Dell guy, I just posted it to show things may be coming. Hopefully..

    Wow. That Sony Z Series is neato. As far as Dell's refund policy goes, I really haven't ever looked into it. I figure I'll deal with it as I go. I'd imagine, though, that if the computer hasn't left the factory yet I'll receive a full refund. I don't know about tax though. Even with tax forfeiture, it might be worthwhile to isolate myself from this 84 and 86 series $200 million scare...

    According to this link 240 laptops will be introduced later today which feature Centrino 2. I find it hard to believe that we won't see a XPS model or two announced today. Maybe the Studio line will also be updated.

    I have no doubt we'll see a Dell announcement in the next 24 hours, but the real question is how soon we'll actually be able to get them.

    The only thing I'm really waiting for is a higher resolution (like the 1440x900 one of the new Sony's has) on the m1330. I'll def wait for that!

    EDIT: Sony has a 13.1 that has a 1600x900 (page 2, bottom left corner): http://news.sel.sony.com/documents/...ral/notebooks/VGN-Z591UB_spec_sheet_FINAL.pdf

    The Sony Z series does look very nice but the price is pretty high. I say you should get what you want now and be happy with it or else you will always be waiting. In the world of technology, you will always be behind or will be soon enough. That is what I hate about it but also love. The new stuff always keeps on coming out. Personally I have the T9300 and kind of wonder myself how much better this new chipset will be in regards to power consumption. If I can see another hour with this new chipset then I will definitely consider it. Being a college student, I have learned that battery life means the most to me. I currently get about 4 hours with the 6 cell on my M1330 with the 8400M GS and if I can get 5 hours with a similar or better dedicated graphics card with this new chipset then I will definitely reconsider my purchase, but if not, I am totally happy with my purchase.

    Yea, I like the Sony's but they are so damn expensive, especially for any extra options. Thats why I really want to stay with Dell. The XPS, for the price, is such a great deal!

    @MexicanSnake: The P9500 is a new CPU. It's the power-optimized version of the T9400.
