I Started this thread to gather all the thoughts and opinions when buying the Dell XPS online from Dell.com ,we can post here all problems and errors in order specs that didnt match the purchased items and customer care replies and the way they solve problems by phone services & do they really have technical talents to solve problems during a phone call. So every one is encouraged to have the experience before chosing an item or how to solve a problem upon purchasing.

I am starting the first subject in this thread with a problem myself faced upon purchasing My Dell XPS 1640.

My Order Details in Dell Website during production stage list the following:
    (320-8190) Premium FHD WLED Display.

While my original Shoping Cart That i Purchased list the following:
(320-7329) Edge-to-Edge FullHD WideScreen 16.0 inch RGBLED LCD

My order status is now under production and it was too late for me to cancel the order. There is a price for the RGBLED that exceeds the WLED by 250 US Dollars, My question is does the Premium FHD WLED listed in my order details really the same as what i purchased which is RGBLED LCD or no. Sure if the answer is no then every one must take complete care that dell ships other items than the purchased ones ,and can later be explained by customer care depts as a generated error.
    Thanks in advance

Here is a replied email from the customer care about my case

" Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused to you. I have reviewed your order details and see that all the order of [320-7329] will not be processed due to illegal configuration. Please be informed that all the items have been replaced with [320-8190]".

never never never order online! Alsways talk to a sales person and aim to drive the price down 15-20% on XPS line! Honestly, my £2100 M1710 was bought for £1605 with upgrades, free case, free 3 yr warranty (which they must be cursing seeing as i just claimed a new M1730 on it 2 1/2 years after purchase!).

There's deals to be had people!
