It's time to upgrade, 2gb is not enough for me. So I was browsing for some deals, can't buy on newegg since I am Canadian![]()
I would like to know what kind RAM would be compatible with the 1530...
Please tell me if this is compatible and if it's good deal: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3175958&CatId=150
If you any suggestions, let me know.

Yes, that RAM will work perfect (and you need a x64 OS to recognise the full 4GB).
I don't know much about Canada,
But if you can get the lower latency RAM - 2x2GB PC2-5300/5400 DDRR2-667 CAS Latency = 4
(Timings: 4-4-4-12), that will improve performance a bit by improving data-fetch. -
That's a good price. I looked at NCIX but all of theirs were over $100 for 4 GB. I am not sure if Tiger Canada is as bad with their rebates, you might want to watch out there.

The one I posted is of 5-5-5-15 CAS Latency, will that make a bit slower or faster?

Consider looking at Canada Computers:

They also have store locations. -

Cool, thanks.
NCIX is offering it at $65 after the mail in rebate by OCZ. Now that's cheap. -
i brought my 4gb ram from frys a few weeks ago for 40$ AR =D
-
frys? they have online store? I am in Quebec

Ncix has weekly specials that work out really great. If you go to their homepage their sales section should be at the top but you will not find the sale prices any other place but that section. I got two OCZ 2 gb sticks for $80 which will be decreased by $25 when my rebate cheques come in (I bought them in two different rebate periods so that I could get both with rebates). Not bad if I do say so myself. Anyway, ncix is never cheap unless you go to their sales. I got a 550 harmony remote for $60 there.

Ordered from NCIX for $65 after mail in rebate. They shipped the next day
The boot up time was really looong! I guess it was just detecting? It shows 3.5gb in windows this blows... will I get full 4gb if I go with 64bit?
Also, is there any configuration I have to do to make sure the RAM is doing its job. -

now that 4gb is so common, next step up is 8gb, and it's already being offered
