So I see lots of refurb'd Studio XPS 16s on ebay at very competitive prices (like a couple of hundred $ off dell.com).

The ones I am looking at includ warranty transferred to buyer - seller has 100% (or near) feedback.

Have others bought on ebay? any dangers/risks to consider?

Should be fine with these 100% sellers and the like. Pay through Paypal so you can file a claim if anything goes wrong. They're generally pretty good at resolving claims in favor of the buyer if the seller has actually done anything wrong. Bought a lot of laptops on eBay over the years and never really had a problem.

I would recommend trying to find a cashback discount and do a buy it now, use your PP but pay with a credit card....if PP doesn't back you the credit card will. Or you can just look around for a 20% off for dell outlet coupon. That is how I got my machine. Ended upp getting a P8600, 4GB, 320GB 7200rpm, BT and the lower end screen for just over 600 before tax.
