    Hello,
I am impressed with the design of DELL XPS and decieded to buy one. The most impotant thing I need is an intel 8MB cache i7 processor " I don't know the AMD equivalent".

However, The price becomes too high.

I don't need the OS provided with the notebook (I already have a Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit DVD ), the Dell Online Backup, McAfee SecurityCenter 15-Months ,Microsoft® Office Starter 2010 or the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 9.

Also, I'm planning to install Linux as my primary OS and inside it I may install WIN7 as a virtual machine to use when needed (so I don't want to pay for something that I won't use).

I was wondering if I can purchace the notebook without all of these softwares to reduce its price(That's not an available option in their website).

If that is possible, what would be the new price of this notebook -approximately-??

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, it's not possible. This is how laptop manufacturers "get you."

If you contact their sales manager then you might be able to sort something out. I got an offer of a 64bit version of windows when it was currently unavailable on the site when I lied through my teeth and said it was a job requirement since I develop 64bit software.
